We hope that this information will help answer our client's most common questions. If you would like further information, please don't hesitate to contact us!
We understand your apprehension about allowing a stranger into your home. We are bonded and insured, and have references available from current and past clients.
It depends on the activity level and bathroom habits of your pet. For dogs, we suggest no less than three visits per day, but cats can usually get by with just one daily visit.
First, it is healthier for your pet to stay at your house. Even though most kennels require vaccinations and practice good sanitation, it is still possible that your pet could catch anything from kennel cough to fleas while there. Second, it places less stress on your pet if they remain in their familiar surroundings. In a kennel, your pet will have to deal with strange people, other animals that they are not familiar with (and may not want to be around), being confined to a cage or running, and the unfamiliar sounds, sights, and smells of a kennel. This can all be very overwhelming, especially for a shy or anxious pet. By using a pet sitter, you spare your loved one these stressful experiences. Your pet will be much happier in your home!
Generally, we try to keep your pets on a schedule that they are used to. We try to be consistent with our visits from day to day.
In our initial "get to know you" meeting, we obtain all the information necessary to contact you in the event of an emergency. We will attempt to contact your vet of record, and in the event we can not contact them, we will contact MedVet or The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine emergency department.
Clients can pay by cash or check. Clients are expected to pay for services in advance, unless prior arrangements have been made.
